RIP DREAD STONE PRESS

Read more about the decision here (coming soon).

While DSP has sadly closed its doors, SPLIT SCREAM lives on! The split novelette weird horror series (and editor, Alex Ebenstein) have found a new home at Tenebrous Press. Volume Four is the first release with the new press, published October 31, 2023. Volumes One, Two, and Three will be reprinted soon; and Volumes Five and Six dropping in 2024–all from Tenebrous Press!

For the time being, the eco-horror anthology, FIELD NOTES FROM A NIGHTMARE, will continue to be available, both directly from DSP and at retailers. All items in the DSP Shop are still available until removed.

Please continue to enjoy and explore the host of horrors found in DOSE OF DREAD – Free Flash Horror.

  • A Girl’s Gotta Eat
By Tiffany Michelle Brown: My body aches as I trudge down yet another graffiti-blasted alleyway. The heat is oppressive, rendering my limbs heavy, my skin crispy, and my sight dubious at best. But I keep searching, because I’m hungry, oh so hungry. … Continue readingA Girl’s Gotta Eat

Truthfully, though, he barely glanced at the pages. He could have retold the story without the book at all, if his daughter hadn’t loved the pictures so much. … Continue readingThe Werewolf Story
  • Carapace
By Angela Sylvaine: It started with the red heel. Or pump, as my mother called them. I saw it while walking to school with the other kids in my neighborhood. A single red high-heel in the middle of the street. … Continue readingCarapace
  • Dead Line
By Madeline Mora-Summonte: The phone rings, a shot through the silence of the boarded-up house. Marjorie stares at the old wall phone, a corpse calling out from beneath its shroud of dust and grime. … Continue readingDead Line
